Do you remember the days before online poker? It seems that Party Poker and their friends sites are now part of our mental landscape and we can not imagine a world without them. However, 20 years ago if you wanted to play poker you need a table, new deck of cards,  and some friends willing and ready to offer play for real money – to ask Brunson Doyle or many of players of the old school.

So how poker rose from the alley to your laptop? Let’s look at the first important fact in our series on both sides of the poker online.

How many times have we wondered how we would spend life after 2000? Well, there are those of us who have spent a lot of time to question and think about, it has even led to the creation of cartoons such as “Jetsons”, the science fiction movies and shows that showed a world completely different from what we had at the time of vehicles flying at low speeds, the human food replaced by tablets or mixtures a little bizarre and children born from “belly” of machines that looked like eggs.

Who would have thought at the time that sites such as PokerStars will become the future of traditional poker tables? Nobody had ever thought that follow, lie down or raise the money at poker would be a click away, as poker players from around the world would be able to meet for a tournament, everyone at home, in pajamas and they would be represented on screen by their own user name in a poker room with an air almost real – with chairs, tables, croupiers, animation and everything! Just think of the many books that were written in the 20th century, about the visual strategy and how to “read” your opponent and now all that vanishes when playing in virtual mode, it leaves us thinking: Is what will replace online poker poker room for good in the future?

IRC poker is the origin of online poker, a form of poker played via IRC (in french, “relayed by Internet discussion”) within 90 years. The IRC, a form of internet chat or conference synchronized, was a program developed by the software developer Finnish Jarkko Oikarinen, which, while he worked at the University of Oulu in 1988, had established its first IRC server and the client program, in an effort to replace the MUT (Talk MultiUse) software used at the time by the Finnish Oulubox BBS. Motivated by a system called  Relay Bitnet Chat (a chat service that worked in an id (identity) with special guests through several desirable Bitnet’s) which operated in BITNET, a network in existence before the internet created in 1981 and born of cooperation between universities and folders where emails could go from one server to another. According NetHistory, BITNET meant “Because It’s There Network” (Network “because it is there”), then over time this changed to “Because It’s Time Network (Network” because it is high time “). The network became so popular among the universities that spread to nearly 500 organizations and 3,000 nodes.

All colleges and educational institutions could join BITNET if they fulfilled the following conditions: a. at least one data circuit (telephone line) of “their” site to a node that already existed BITNET b. buy a modem for each data circuit, sending a point of connection to the site c. allow for further instructions to connect “their” site.

So Oikarinen use of available resources Bitnet Relay this time to create IRC, which then made his hole in the world of telecommunications when it was used by military institutions in troubleshooting when the cuts took place media. After that the IRC has become very popular as a tool for rapid communication distance, and then shortly after for games such as poker.

IRC poker software used to distribute the cards and manage the poker games, online orders should be written directly into the standard interface of the IRC, then received answers online software dealer, which meant that the game was faster than a face to face Thursday. Graphical interfaces for IRC were quick to appear on the market, which eliminates the need for typing. Poker IRC used the money, which attracted a lot of beginners who wanted to learn the game without risking losing their own money. This virtual tool helped primitive poker poker personalities such as Chris Ferguson to improve their poker skills until he feels strong enough to play for real money.

At the end of 90 years,  a computer programmer Mike Caro and visionary, already an author of poker, whom co-founded Planet Poker, a virtual casino offering poker games for real money for the first time in history the virtual game. He had the vision of the virtual poker would be successful among the gaming community for 80 years, according to Moe Al  in “Legend of Poker:  Caro Mike . Moe reports: “His own computer artificial intelligence to play poker, ORAC (Caro à l’envers), came on national television where he played good against a challenge Stupak for $ 500,000. Bob misa his own money, the friend of Caro and the casino owner, Jackie Gaughn, misa on the computer. The TV show of the ABC “Incredible but true filma the part eventually win Stupak.

Planet Poker According to the early years of online poker were not easy. Although they knew that the virtual poker had certain advantages vis-à-vis the poker tables, as the absence of distractions and stress of trying to keep a poker face cool and mysterious, there were challenges immediate online poker as: bluff or take Bluf that did not exist in the world of online poker because it is a poker face to face, to advertise the virtual game, which was linked to fact that the internet and computers were still considered as new forms of threat in the world of communication, and this made it more difficult to have a large number of customers in traditional casinos. Despite this they began to brainstorm about advertising online poker and they focused on the advantages against the traditional poker. “First they published quarter-page in Card Player and other magazines, in extolling the virtues of virtual poker. Play in pajamas at 2 am, even if you do not traditional game, said the pub. The pitch was good and the guests began to arrive. “We were skeptical at first. But the evidence was clear. The poker is played now at a distance. Shortly after, hundreds of players were playing simultaneously online poker on the virtual poker room  Poker Planet, and the revolution of online poker began. “The problem of trust in a virtual casino was soon solved by maintaining an impeccable reputation that served the customers’ hands of poker were examined, the deceit of the banned online poker room and players had been reimbursed for  grievances legitimate. As with any other card room, we earned the confidence of the players by playing fair and honest. “

After the big step Virtual Planet Poker, the rest is history. Creativity increases the competition between the emerging virtual casinos, the range of promotions and bonuses as a form of marketing is now everywhere on the Internet, on sites established as Full Tilt Poker and they are able to retain a large amount players like the real casinos.
