Guide: How to put/import/rip/convert DVD to Premier?

There are many problems would arise when importing and editing DVD to Adobe Premiere Pro, I just listed some of them here below, just check them out, if you happen to fall into one of their situation, then just read patiently, you will find an answer at the end.

 
Get/Import/rip from DVD into Adobe Premier Pro

a. I have a camcorder that writes straight to DVD, I have copied all the files to my desktop but find it very difficult using Adobe Premier Pro to import; The files extensions are .IFO + .VOB, it just can’t even open anything that I have recorded.

b. I’ve tried renaming .vob to mpeg. But Adobe Premiere Pro doesn’t seem to play the whole thing, or there is no sound. I have tried using a ripper and although it plays fine on Mac it doesn’t play the picture in premiere.

c. I have tried to convert the VOB files from the DVD to mpeg and wmv, and tried to import them into Premiere, but every time i try to do so, the program freezes and crashes.

A. Tapeless format

B. DV AVI and HDV
