Tiger Woods turns 34 today. It has been a tumultuous month for the golfer, as his previously untainted reputation has been sullied by an expansive array of alleged mistresses. Woods kept a low profile as the scandal developed, but everyone deserves a birthday gift. If Tiger can only see one of his alleged lady friends on his birthday, who should it be? In the latest Tiger Woods update, it seems that the pro-golfer has recognized that he has some real problems (really?) – an addiction to sex and drugs! The Daily Mail is reporting that Woods will check himself into an Arizona rehab facility in January to deal with his dependence on sex, Vicodin and Ambien. With the list of mistresses he’s bedded in the past three years as proof, it would seem obvious that the man has a sex addiction. Also, the public knowledge that he abused Vicodin and Ambien to have better sex with mistress Rachel Uchitel hopefully made him wake up to his drug abuse.
Maybe the rehab stint is an effort to make his wife Elin Nordregen happy. But I’m betting it’s more about making his public happy. After all, the first step to gaining forgiveness is showing remorse and that you’re willing to work to redeem yourself.
